When I first came across this on YouTube, I thought, "That's great! Something impressive and simple." Now I think it is a bit more than that. Perhaps all of us can learn a thing or two:

Faintlight is fully https now

Everyone can use https://faintlight.com now for more privacy. The site is updated to support full SSL throughout the services. If you want to have more privacy, this will do it. This has been updated for email etc. too.

Backing up and restoring over a network

I've recently updated some hardware since the existing stuff is starting to act poorly, like not restarting reliably etc. I purchased an eee machine wich doesn't have a DVD player and has a laptop SATA HD (bigger too!) and so on. However, I really just want to migrate the existing server to the new hardware, and not reinstall, and configure. So, that's the background.

Wireless on linux with the AirLink 101

I don't want to market something in particular like this, but my experience with wireless devices and linux has not been great, so I figured that since I've come across something that is both inexpensive, fast and it works, I should share in my discovery.

Converting audio files into ringtones for iphone on Linux

Nevertheless, the tools on Linux are fantastic to edit sound and do gobs of other stuff...

1) ring tones have to be less than 30 seconds in length... so use Audacity to edit your favourite audio file to a nice <30 second clip.
